OPEN CALL FOR SHORT PHONE VIDEOS
Submission deadline:
September 10, 2008
In conjunction with the upcoming exhibition SCRAWL, apexart is soliciting that video on your phone that you just had to take. Whether propelled by a sense of voyeurism, a sincere desire to connect, or to record that odd scene, those moments are an intimate snapshot of the city’s inhabitants that capture a larger message about a city’s ethos, and we want to show them to others.
Apexart is requesting short cell phone videos for possible inclusion in a public program screening the evening of September 24, 2008, in conjunction with SCRAWL, an exhibition by collector and curator Harley Spiller that features close to 100 mostly anonymous handmade pronouncements collected from the streets and subways of New York City over the past 25 years.
To apply please e-mail the following on or before Wednesday, September 10:
-Name, e-mail and home address
-A brief description of the video and its date of capture
-All submissions should be e-mailed to info@apexart.org with subject line OPEN CALL
