My dear Colombian friends,
As you know, on January of this year, I started a long-term project, Immigrant Movement International, presented by Creative Time and the Queens Museum of Art in New York: www.immigrant-movement.us. For December 18th, the International Migrants Day proclaimed by the UN, we are planning a global public action.
I personally want to invite you to be part of this exciting action on December 18th, 2011 at 2:00 PM of your local time, wherever you are in the world. I would be very happy if you could come up with a simple action, present an artwork in real time, have a conversation, or any idea you might have to show your support for immigrant rights. After all, most artists are immigrants themselves.
We already have participants from various locations and time zones to be part of this. We are planning on sharing all the global actions through a web-map that will be open to supporters of this cause, as well as a large art audience.
While change takes many steps, let us unite on that day and show that we are many and we want a different world.
Looking forward to hearing from you very soon, it is going to be awesome to see so many people coming together on this! Write me back if you want to be part of it, and I will provide you with more details.

Esta es una web colombiana, como mucho iberoamericana. Y usted es supuestamente cubana. Es decir, todos hablamos en español. Aún más, un gran porcentaje de emigrantes son de origen hispano.

Mis amigos en Colombia,
Como debe ser de su conocimiento, en el mes de Enero del presente año, comencé un proyecto a largo plazo llamado el Movimiento Inmigrante Internacional, presentado por Creative Time y el Queens Museum of New York: http://www.immigrant-movement.us. Para el 18 de Diciembre, proclamado por las Naciones Unidas como el Día Internacional del Migrante, estamos planeando una acción pública global.
Quisiera extenderle personalmente una invitación a ser parte de ésta emocionante acción el 18 de Diciembre a las 2:00 pm, hora local de cual sea su ubicación mundial. Sería de inmenso placer el que usted ideara una acción simple, presente una obra de arte en tiempo real, tuviese una conversación o generara cualquier tipo de idea que muestre su apoyo por los derechos del inmigrante. Después de todo, muchos artistas son inmigrantes ellos mismos.
Ya tenemos participantes de varias locaciones y diferentes horas locales que harán parte del evento. Planeamos compartir todas las acciones a través de un mapa en la web, el cual estará abierto tanto para todo aquel que apoye la causa como para un publico del arte significativo.
Si bien el cambio toma varios pasos, unámonos en este día y demostremos que somos muchos y que queremos un mundo diferente.
Espero con emoción su pronta respuesta, va a ser increíble ver a tanta gente unirse por esta causa. Por favor escríbame de vuelta si quiere unirse y le enviare mas detalles.
