About Houses and Other Topics
Current apexart resident Maria Inès Rodriguez, a Colombian-born curator working in France and Spain, discusses her recent project — part exhibition, part seminar, part meeting place — entitled Habitat / Variation. Bringing together artists, architects, planners, and others from a variety of disciplines to explore questions of habitation in urban space, Rodriguez asks where and how we dwell, reside and live. Composing a wide range of projects that touch on the subject of habitat in the broadest sense, the projects that are going to be presented come from diverse contexts, situated at the intersection of architecture, art, utop ia and reality. Through a discussion of this particular project, Rodriguez will explain her understanding of exhibitions as a space for building interdisciplinary networks for social and political change.
